The
band has increased in size and stature over the last
few years,
developing into almost a full size band. The band regularly
feature in many concerts, perform for several examination
assessments and also in the local community.
For example, the band were invited to perform for the St George's
day service at Dewsbury
Minster.
There
is always regular opportunity for soloists to perform
with a full band
accompaniment, becoming highlights of many concerts
over the years. Recent soloists include Amy Lazenby (Cornet),
Jenny Sutherland (Cornet), John Chamberlain (cornet), Danny
Jones
(Trombone),
Scott Dawson (Euphonium), Joe Neill ( Euphonium) and Chris
Hardstaff (Eb Bass).
The band
continues to develop its diverse repertoire, playing music
ranging
from
Mussorgsky
to The Beatles and from Italian Opera to Jazz.
The
band is conducted and led by Mr Cole.
