Ms. Griffiths in the World Triathlon Championships
Created: Fri 30th Sep 05 at 10:38:03
Ms Griffiths will be leaving for Honolulu on Monday 3rd October; the journey takes over 24 hours via Vancouver. Once there she has a full itinerary of acclimatization, training on the course and soaking up the sun during team briefings!

The race is on the 9th and the swims start at 5.30 to avoid the sun, each age group starts separately. The swim is 1500 metres in the sea, followed by a 40 km bike in a strong wind off the pacific, then a 10 km run.

The hardest challenge will be the heat and humidity, a problem for the British team used to racing in cooler climes.

If you want to follow the British team you can access the event on www.honolulu2005.com the results are posted as they happen due to electronic chips worn by the athletes.
