Would you like to play an instrument or learn to sing?

Making music can be an incredibly rewarding activity whether it is personal satisfaction and pride in mastering a new skill, or the thrill of performing in front of friends and family in a major concert venue. As well as learning a specific skill which can remain for life it can also enrich and support many other aspects of learning. There are many instruments to choose from and such a wide range of musical styles from different times and places - everyone can enjoy the experience of playing a musical instrument. Music is an important part of many people’s lives and the experience of learning a musical instrument will help develop a deeper understanding and life long love of music.  Further information click here.

Mr Tweedle Announces His Retirement Next Year

After twenty years of loyal and distinguished service to the school, Mr Tweedle has indicated that he would like to retire from headship in August 2010. A vacancy, therefore, arises for a Headteacher from September 2010, and details can be found in the Vacancies section of our web site.

 

Mr Tweedle’s leadership has secured for the school continuous sustained growth and development, seeing dramatic changes to the school buildings and student numbers significantly increasing, whilst at the same time the standards attained by those students have repeatedly reached new heights. Thanks to this leadership, the school is in profoundly good health and presents an exciting opportunity for the new head.

Influenza Update

A copy of the school guidance for coping with a possible influenza outbreak can be viewed by clicking on the headline.  At this very early stage, when we are unsure whether or not there will be a pandemic, it is important that if your child exhibits flu like symptoms they do not come into school, particularly if they have recently travelled to Mexico or have had contact with someone who has recently travelled to Mexico. Up to date medical guidance is available from NHS direct.
